Imago

Imago is a sculpture-installation that amalgamates synthetic and organic materials to create a symbiotic being. The work includes a burned branch attached to a metal frame with epoxy resin containing animal bone dust. On the floor, a mound of dirt supports a screen from which fluorescent silicone intestines emerge, culminating in a corn husk tail of huitlacoche. The installation explores the relationship between the synthetic and the organic, juxtaposing natural and industrial elements and is inspired by science fiction.
